This weekend, Kris and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. Kris surprised me a couple of weeks ago and let me know that he had scheduled a trip to Pinehurst to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Now Pinehurst has something to offer for men (golf advocates) and women (the spa seekers). Kris scheduled a weekend with nothing but me in mind. We headed to Pinehurst on Friday for a weekend at the Spa. Jonah got to stay at Gigi and Papa's house.

We started the weekend off right with couples facials. The spa itself was wonderful. The smells stood out to me right away. The smell of laundry when you receive your robe and sandals in the locker rooms. The smell of herbal therapy in the steam room. The botanical smells used during the facial. The food was amazing throughout the weekend. Kris and I received royal treatment.

This was the first weekend Kris and I have been away from Jonah. Gayle came to pick up Jonah on Friday afternoon. I cried when I watched them leave the driveway. We called them at least 3 times a day, and I thought about him a lot. We had wallet pictures of him up in our room. Wouldn't you know that this weekend while at the grandparents house, Jonah would decide to laugh for the first time. One of the firsts that we missed. Gayle did call and leave a voicemail of Jonah laughing on Kris's phone. We played the message over and over at least 5 times. It brought a smile to my face each time and all I could say is that is our son.
Kris and I had a great weekend. We talked a lot, laughed a lot and relaxed. It was the perfect way to spend our wedding anniversary. We decided this weekend that Jonah will never have to doubt how much his parents love each other.

Today it was back to being full time parents. Yesterday Jonah received his 4 month shots and did well. However today, daycare called and Jonah has been running a fever of 101.5 all day. He has been fussy and Kris went to pick him up to go to the doctor and was Jonah's hero. I stayed home with him yesterday and therefore had to sit at work waiting to see if Jonah was ok. I was glad to see 4 oclock so that I could get home to my baby boy and hold him. Through all of the fever and fussiness, we were able to make Jonah laugh and this was the best part of our day by far.
