What's New with Jonah

Here are all things new with Jonah these days:
- He has figured out his tongue. Now he sticks his tongue out all of the time and it is difficult to get a pacifier in his mouth. But altogether this discovery is really cute.

- He has figured out his hands too. He always has his hands together in front of him. When it is time to eat, I put the bib on and he knows he is about to get fed. His hands come together and then to his mouth, his shoulders scrunch up and his mouth is ready. I have to move the hands away from the mouth to feed him. Really cute!!

- He has started to follow moving objects around the room. This is his daddy's favorite new thing. Kris loves it when Jonah's eyes follow him around the room.

- He has just recently started to talk a little bit. It is cute when you catch it. These talking sessions are short, few and far between. We love them!

- Our favorite is his smile. We have been able to video him smiling and watching the video back, melts my heart each time. There is nothing better as a parent right now than making your baby smile. I absolutely love it!! I am working on getting the video on my computer and then to the blog.

- Right now, Jonah has just woken up from a nap and he is playing in his bouncy seat. He has figured out that if he hits the parrot and the monkey the seat lights up and plays music. This music now gets stuck in my head and I find myself singing the tunes from the bouncy seat instead of the songs on the radio. This is another sign of a true parent.

Bath time is fun too!!

Kris and I are slipping into more of a routine and life is a little less chaotic with Jonah. There seem to be less fussy times in the evening. We are eating dinner at a reasonable hour instead of 11:30. After dinner, we go for golf cart rides in the neighborhood. This time with the whole family is nice. Yes, even Tanner gets to come with us. We have a leash hooked up to the back seat where he sits. Jonah usually falls asleep which is really nice.

Our July 4th weekend was a lot of fun and spent with friends. The long weekend for Kris was fun and relaxing. He was not wanting to go back to work on Monday morning. Speaking of going to work, I would have to say that the morning sessions of loving on Jonah is one of Kris's favorite times of the day. Most of the time Jonah is awake when Kris is getting ready for work. This means Daddy gets his morning sugar from Jonah before he leaves for the day.

At the end of each night, I sit in bed and watch my baby boy sleeping. I am going to miss this when we move him to his bedroom upstairs. But as each day goes by and the end of my maternity leave gets closer, I give my boy as many kisses as I can. I keep my eyes on him every minute we are together, suck up all of the clean baby smell, and fall in love with him a little more everyday.
