A Parent is a Baby's Hero

I have only been a parent for five weeks now, but in those five weeks I have realized that a parent is a baby's hero. A parent comes to the rescue with a bottle when the baby is hungry, is able to relieve the baby from gas with a good burp, soothes them when they are scared and loves them unconditionally (even when they are woken up in the middle of the night for a feeding). I take pride in being one of Jonah's hero's.

Here goes a proud mother updating everyone on the developmental changes in Jonah I have observed lately. To some this is boring but as a parent these are huge milestones these days. Jonah is beginning to show us a smile every now and then. He is able to focus on objects in front of him, and follow them from side to side. Kris and I think he is trying to figure out how to suck his thumb. One other thing, he is beginning to find his voice. He is doing none of these things all of the time, just sometimes. But to a parent these changes are amazing and we love every minute.

As a side note, one of my favorite times is when he lets me know he is hungry. I will have the bottle ready and seeing his expression when he realizes he gets to eat soon is too cute. It is hard to describe in words, but imagine the facial expressions being really animated and did I mention cute.

Just to update you on how Jonah is now acting when we travel, he is doing much better. We are all doing much better when we travel. We went to Greenville this weekend and we all felt a little better than the last time we traveled. Of course Jonah would get fussy at times, but for the most part all of us were at peace and enjoyed the weekend with the Grace family.

Kris and I look forward to being Jonah's hero for days to come. I look forward to times where we come to the rescue when he has a skinned knee, he is relieved to know we still love him when he makes a mistake, soothe him when a storm wakes him at night and always love him unconditionally.

Here's to all hero's (Parents)
