Great Visits...

Kris and I visited Jonah yesterday in the evening and again this morning. Both have been the best visits so far. Jonah has been eating by bottle and some breast feeding. His oxygen tube and NG feeding tube have been removed. His central IV line was also removed this morning. Currently Jonah is hooked up to only monitors and no longer needs an IV for medications or nutrition. The week long regiman of antibiotics for the muconium infection was completed yesterday.

Kris and I have noticed a major change in our little boy over the past day. He is acting more and more like a healthy, content little boy. He has been sleeping and eating better starting yesterday evening. We met with a lactation consultant today and had a successful feeding. It was the most amazing feeling to be able to provide my child with the nutrition needed. He was bright eyed and wide awake today. I knew from the beginning of the session that he was going to cooperate. The specialist also gave Kris some tips to use during feeding that will let him be involved in the feeding sessions as well. This morning was the best visit. He was awake, happy, ate well and took a good nap.

Kris and I get more excited about Jonah's progress every day. This means that we are one step closer to bringing him home and continuing our lives as a complete family.

We want to send our thanks to everyone who has kept us in their thoughts and prayers. We know many of these prayers have been answered and are truly grateful.
