Today is Kris's birthday. In all of the years that I have known him, his birthday is spent at the beach on memorial day weekend. This year was a little different. Well I would say a lot different. This year, we welcome Jonah to the family, and brought him home on Memorial Day weekend.
Looking back on things, a lot has changed in the past year. One year ago around this time we were in St. John for Corey and Ashley's wedding. Kris and I got pregnant and welcomed Jonah to the family. Every year I have known Kris his birthday has started with Blueberry muffins for breakfast. This year a nap with Jonah started his birthday. Instead of store bought cards, Jonah and I made daddy homemade cards. Daddy seemed to like these cards better anyway. Jimmy and Gayle drove up for dinner and brought a birthday cake. Kris did luck out and end up with two birthday cakes this year. One chocolate from momma Grace and a pineapple cake from momma Swinson.
Alot has changed in the past year and I know this year will be full of change. Just in the past couple of weeks I have seen a side of my husband that only his son could bring out of him. Kris is a loving, devoted dad and husband. He has taken care of his family in the times when it was needed the most.
